"Spare Key" is an instructional video on one of the most underused gimmicks in card magic, the "Double Thick Card".Often billed as a beginner's gimmick, the thick card is actually one of the most versatile key cards available to a card magician of any skill level.
In this video download, Carl Irwin walks you through the construction, basic handling and several of his favorite applications for the thick card gimmick.Most notably, Carl teaches his approach to controlling cards in a table wash using the gimmick and also a variation on his card catching trick, "Catching Cold".
